Product Review: Halo Organic Skincare

Cold nights, wet windy weather and the heating on full blast means our skin goes through harsh conditions. This time of year my skin is especially dry and I usually reach out for a thick gel based cream like doublebase. So, I was very excited when I was contacted by Halo skincare to try their product. Halo skincare is:

  • Made with organic certified and natural ingredients
  • Contains no colour, no perfume, no parabens
  • Cruelty free
  • Made in the UK
  • Vegan Society and HMC certified

Halo was founded in 2007, by Soni Shah, after her own search for natural, unperfumed, paraben-free skincare products revealed that there was very little choice in the UK market. Soni is a dear friend of mine, she graduated from Oxford University and Imperial College London, worked alongside UK skincare experts to exacting EU regulations and vegan specifications, to formulate the high-quality Halo brand.

So I used the body balm product for one week. The packaging is simple and the container lightweight. Unlike other creams the actual texture is not as soft but rich, there is no aroma and does not absorb as quickly but this is its beauty. It stays in contact with your skin longer, definitely giving a lasting moisturising effect.

With previous creams I would sometimes need to use it twice a day and top up frequently on my hands throughout the day. Once a day was definitely enough and by the end of the week I noticed a huge difference in leaving my skin soft and hydrated. Would definitely recommend this product, they just need to make a bigger sized pot!
